Church & Calvin Camera
Another Sunday down. Have I mentioned how much I love church? We are meeting some awesome people there. I met a girl there named Crystal that I really liked; she works in nursery and looks to be about my age. We talked during nursery and she has a little boy that is Calvin's age. She also has two girls, one is around 2, and I think Calvin likes her. He was flirting with her at the end of church, lol. That boy.
Here are some pics of the church, since I said I would post them last week. Wanted you to see the "Iron Giant" doors, as Calvin calls them
Calvin actually went up to nursery by himself today, and then stayed there without me until he refused to put his toys away. Then he got upset when he was told he needed to put them away, so they had to bring him to me. So that's when I went up there and hung out. There are about 15 or so kids in nursery. Calvin is seeming to get used to it and really like it. I can't wait to start making playdates for him so he can have buddies to hang out with!
Calvin got a hold of my camera last night and the pics he took were so cute, I just had to share them:
I love how he is pointing at the camera with his left hand, and, well, I'm not sure what he's doing with the fingers on his right - but it sure is cute! And that smile! I love this little guy :)
Here is a preview of one of our Halloween crafts that we are working on. We have to go get some more materials before it's done though. I'm so excited that Calvin is old enough to be getting into crafts with me!

Church
Today we finally got to go to our ward! And I was happy because we actually went to the right one. Yay for LDS.org directing me to the right place :) It's really old school, I need to ask when it was built. It's got this huge window in the front around the doors. Calvin said that it has "Iron Giant" doors. I will have to take a picture later to put on this post so you can see.
Everyone was very nice, and most of the people I met are military. I don't know if it's a military only ward or not. It was a pretty small ward; smaller than Sutherlin ward. Ahhh, I miss Sutherlin ward. It just feels like home there. Though I'm sure this will start feeling more like home the longer I am here. But nothing can replace Sutherlin Ward for me.
Everyone I talked to was military, or military wives. I was in the Mothers Room nursing Emma and two other ladies from my ward came in to use it as well. They live on base too, not too far from me. I'm horrible with names, I wish I could remember their names. Both of their husbands are deployed right now. One of them has a son named Calvin also, that they named after the Calvin and Hobbes too! And from the sounds of it, he is a lot like my Calvin. Isn't that crazy?
That Mothers Room was definitely hopping, especially once the other ward showed up. So many kids in this tiny church! I'm really hoping to find some friends for all of us. I know Calvin really needs some play buddies.
Right now he is playing with our Heroscape game. Aaron brought it out a couple of days ago and he is obsessed. He can build all kinds of different lands, and there are so many characters. I love sitting and listening to him make all the characters talk, and sword fight (he goes "sching sching, sching sching"). He sets up good guy and bad guy bases. Some characters refuse to be on the sand tiles because those tiles are "dirty". Etc. I love it!And it didn't take long after we got home for him to strip down to his undies. I think I need to go get that boy dressed!
